Annual Events
At MIFQ, we are committed to being actively involved in our community. Across south-east and central Queensland, we host and participate in a number community events.
Each year, we host two key events in Queensland. These events are held to celebrate Schizophrenia Awareness Week in May and encourage the Brisbane and Gold Coast communities to come together and help us to raise awareness for the issues surrounding severe and persistent mental illness.
Annual Art Exhibition
In its 21st year, our annual Art Exhibition is a landmark event in Brisbane and captivates the hearts and minds of hundreds of visitors each year. Showcasing the incredible artwork of 150 Artists, this event provides an opportunity to people with a lived experience of mental illness to exhibit and sell their artwork.
Each year this event is an incredible success with over 40 per cent of the work selling. Most importantly, 90 per cent of the sale proceeds go directly to the Artist.
Annual Community Walk
On the Gold Coast each year, approximately 100 members of the community come together to walk to raise awareness.
'Walk with me, I am part of our community,' is an event designed to promote social inclusion and encourages the community to come together and fight the stigma often associated with severe and persistent mental illness.
