Bob practised as an accountant in private industry for many years and has over the past four years taught history, research methods and critical literacy at James Cook University.
Bob is a committed volunteer within the community sector, is a guest lecturer and tutor for the Indigenous Studies Unit at JCU and has a personal interest that fuels his commitment to improving outcomes for people with a mental illness.
Bob previously acted as Treasurer for the Fellowship and dedicated many hours each year to its governance and supervising the financial management of the organisation.
Tanya Park

RN, Endorsed Mental Health Nurse & Midwife
PhD candidate
Tanya is a registered nurse, endorsed mental health nurse, endorsed midwife and credentialed mental health nurse. Tanya’s nursing experience includes private and public settings (in rural, remote and urban centres) including crisis, community and emergency mental health services.
Tanya joined the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Nutrition at James Cook University in 2005 and teaches with both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Tanya is currently a PhD candidate with the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Nutrition researching the prevention of weight gain for people with schizophrenia taking second generation antipsychotic medication.
Tanya assists the Fellowship with organising and supporting MIFNQ events, including assisting delivery of the Schizophrenia Awareness Week Forum and attending Strategic Planning and Management Committee meetings throughout the year.
Jenny Chapman

Bachelor Social Work
Jenny is a social worker with a broad range of experience within the community sector. She has experienced mental illness as a carer, has a special interest in working with parents with a mental illness and supporting children of people with a mental illness.
Jenny has acted as the project officer for two collaborative projects between SOLAS and MIFNQ, the Building Links Project the development of a supported accommodation model for individuals with complex needs.
Sandra Hubert

Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management
Sandra is a management accountant and has gained valuable knowledge working in small firms to multi-nationals in manufacture, agriculture, construction, wholesale, retail, taxation, H R and property management. In recognition of her work, Sandra was announced a finalist for Corporate Business Woman of the Year 2009.
Sandra believes in giving back to the community and is actively involved on several executive committees and local organisations. She joined the management committee of MIFNQ in 2006 to work towards awareness and acceptance of people with a brain injury or a mental illness.
In 2008 the City of Thuringowa recognised Sandra’s contribution to the community and presented her with the Spirit of Thuringowa Award.
Donella Pickles

Consumer
Donella has a long and detailed history supporting and working for the community sector with a special interest in mental illness and has been a member of the Fellowship for over 10 years.
She has experienced mental illness over 50 years and has been a leading supporter and provider of mutual support and self-help groups in the local area.
Donella acts as a valuable member of the Fellowship’s management committee, volunteers her time and skills within our office and assists with the preparation for, and hosting of, special events.
