Regional Manager (Gold Coast Services)
A rare opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Regional Manager to lead the Fellowship's services on the Gold Coast for a maternity relief contract until 13 March 2013.
What services are delivered on the Gold Coast?
- Information and referral services to anyone within the community in relation to resources that are mental health specific and generic within the local community;
- Individual support for individuals living in the community through the development of individual recovery plans which capture an individual's support needs;
- Specialised individual support and accommodation in partnership with a local housing provider, to assist individuals to develop skills to maintain independent tenancies;
- Resource centre that provides opportunities for individuals to re-develop skills they need to regain their lives in the community;
- Peer facilitated education programs for carers and people living with mental illness;
- Special events to highlight and raise awareness for Mental Illness within the local community.
You
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Regional Manager will be committed to upholding and promoting the values, mission and vision of the Fellowship and working within the Fellowship’s Service Framework. The following are essential:
- experience in the mental illness and/or psychiatric disability sector;
- experience in a management position with line management, budgeting and funding agreement responsibilities;
- developed knowledge and application of recovery-oriented, strengths-based approaches to service delivery;
- appropriate tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma or Bachelor) in mental health, social sciences, psychology, human or community services or similar;
- a current open Qld drivers licence;
- a Department of Communities positive yellow card and blue card or the ability to successfully acquire positive notice. (The Fellowship will assist you with this if you are successful).

Support Worker (Gladstone)
Our Day to Day Living program is currently seeking a Support Worker to join the Gladstone-based team in a part-time capacity (30 hours per week) at “The Haven”, our centre-based, structured activity program in Gladstone. The Support Worker provides non-clinical, recovery-oriented, strengths-based and person-centred support to individuals, to help them connect with their personal, natural and community supports, to develop the skills and abilities to live independently in a community of their choice. The Support Worker engages with, and journeys alongside individuals to support them to set and attain their own vision of recovery.
You
You will be committed to upholding and promoting the values, mission and vision of the Fellowship. You will have:
- experience in the mental illness and/or psychiatric disability sector;
- knowledge and application of strengths-based and recovery-oriented approaches to service delivery;
- appropriate tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate level) in mental health, social sciences, psychology, human or community services or similar or relevant experience in a similar role;
- a current open Qld drivers licence and a roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle;
- a Department of Communities positive notice yellow card and/or blue card or the ability to successfully acquire positive notice (The Fellowship will assist you with this if you are successful).
