MIFQ has a number of exciting community events held throughout the year that you can support. Our events aim to raise awareness, encourage community inclusion and raise funds.

In partnership with our community, membership, partners and participants, we believe that together we can make a difference.

MIFQ congratulates our finalists at 2013 Mental Health Week Awards

On Friday 11 October 2013, MIFQ attended the 2013 Mental Health Achievement Awards at the Novotel Brisbane. CEO, Tony Stevenson and Board Member, Trish Nolan supported our nominated finalists, Dr Felice Zaccari, and Geoff and Johanna Brabrook.

Nominated in the individual category, Dr Zacarri, a philanthropist and retired General Practitioner, has spent his life trying to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness.

He is dedicated to finding the causes and a cure for schizophrenia, and through his perpetual scholarship has been a passionate advocate of research into schizophrenia.

As President of MIFQ's Darling Downs and South West Branch, Geoff Brabrook and his wife Johanna, were nominated in the Carer category.

Over the past 14 years they have worked tirelessly with government and community agencies to develop local services in the Toowoomba area to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness.

They also facilitate a support group, providing advice and information to people living with mental illness, their families and carers.

We would like to congratulate all three finalists on their nomination and for their valuable contribution to MIFQ and the community.
