Information and Referral

We support people living with mental illness and their families and carers in Adelaide and country South Australia. Our programs and services are all focused on rehabilitation and recovery for people living with mental illness and their natural support networks to enjoy the best possible quality of life.

All of us have mental health it’s just that one in five of us will also experience a mental illness. Some people recover fully from mental illness after only one episode. Other people experience episodes of being unwell which recur throughout their lives. Ongoing treatment and support allows the person to manage their mental illness and to participate as fully as possible in life. We assist families and friends to enhance the way they care for themselves and for their family member or friend living with mental illness.

Our organisation has been formed by people who have experienced mental illness themselves and/or cared for someone who has experienced mental illness. We call this ‘lived experience’ and this first hand knowledge is shared with the wider community to help break down stigma and can make a big difference in people’s lives.

We have many resources, including programs and services, mental health fact sheets, carer support groups and our library which are available to all individuals and organisations seeking information and support.

Some of the ways you can learn more about mental illness include: taking a Carer support  program, reading our fact sheets, and visiting our Library.

You can also find helpful information on the websites listed in this brochure.
