Lorikeet Centre Rehabiliation Program

The Lorikeet Centre at 104 Cambridge Street, West Leederville, 3km northwest of Perth, is a rehabilitation service for adults with a diagnosed mental illness and is based on the international Clubhouse Model.

What we can provide

At the Lorikeet Centre you can set your own recovery goals and work towards them, make friends and have fun. Services at the rehabilitation centre include help gaining work skills,  recreation, education, social support and advocacy.

You can participate in a modified workday to develop and maintain daily living skills as well as enjoy social interaction, community life and organised activities.

In this supportive environment you can work on acquiring the skills and support you need. The process allows you to take charge of your own recovery, which brings hope and a sense of self-worth. You are encouraged to participate actively with others to further their mental health and social competence as well.

There is a small cost to members for lunch and subsidised social activities.

Work experience

At the Lorikeet Centre, you can get valuable work experience by running programs alongside staff. You can participate in planning, preparing and serving lunch, clerical duties or presenting information about services and mental illness to the general community.

The program can also help to manage everyday tasks and move back into education or the workforce. You will have access to a computer and help preparing resumes and job applications.

Relaxation

There is plenty of fun to be had as well. Join in activities such as table tennis, pool, movies, picnics and barbecues and visits to museums, cultural and artistic events.
