Howard Springs Retreat
The Top End Mental Health Partnership organised a lovely day out at Howard Springs Nature Reserve for Carers and Consumers on the 6th July 2012.
The day was enjoyed by everyone with art, music, bush tucker walks, swimming and most importantly great food.
2012 Biggest Morning Tea
Pete's Place held a Biggest Morning Tea on Friday1st June for carers, consumers and community members. It was a fantastic morning of fine food and great company. A special thank you to the Pete's Place Artists who donated the beautiful art work for raffles and auctions and who came in early to assist with the set up and morning tea preparation. We raised over $300 for the Cancer Council
2012 Schizophrenia Awareness Week
Mental Health Carers NT held a stall at Tamarind Park in Darwin City in May with a Consumer Art display or colourful masks and paintings there was infomation on schizophrenia and a sausage sizzle. The event was was attended and we gave a lot of information to people some of whom had afamily member who is living with schizophrenia.
Mental Health Week Consumer & Carer Dinner
Our annual Carers & Consumer dinner was held at the Sunset Restaurant, Skycity Casino. Carers, consumers, and staff had a wonderful time, great food, great atmosphere & great company.
Pete's Place members ventured out bush to Tumbling Waters for an overnight stay at the cabins and had a truly wonderful time. The members and staff explored, stargazed, swam with a saltie in Berry Springs and cooked up some great tucker on the barbie. The trip was a great success, with all members feeling revitalized and recharged from spending time in nature. Everyone is looking forward to doing it again sometime soon.
