Support Groups
If someone in your family is living with a mental illness, meeting regularly with other families in the same situation can help.
Our support groups for families and friends of people living with mental illness meet in Townsville, Cairns and Mackay each month. Come along to discuss issues of concern and to gain a better understanding of the medical, social and economic problems created by mental illness.
The groups have a strong educational and mutual support component and are very important in assisting families manage the impact of mental illness. Some groups are co-facilitated with Carers Queensland.
